Welcome to Talbot Counselling and Psychotherapy services.

I am a CPCAB trained counsellor, working in an integrative way, putting client autonomy at the heart of all therapeutic work. The therapeutic approaches I integrate, eclectically blend to suit client individuality and holistic well being.

My practice extends from Christchurch to Poole, where you will receive a warm welcome, within pleasant and comfortable surroundings, Authentic, empathic understanding, within a therapeutically safe environment awaits you. Explore problematic situations or issues, talk over an adverse life event with someone who will listen, challenge unhelpful thoughts or behaviours……You may discover new found self-awareness around uncomfortable feelings and emotions. Clearing a path for insight, clarity and direction.

Working with the adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma are my specialist fields. I do however, work and have experience of working with clients for whom, a variety of problematic situations or harrowing experiences have led to their psychological or emotional distress, difficulties with day to day living and impaired mental health. Resulting in the need to seek counselling or psychotherapy.

Additional qualifications include Alcohol, Drug and Substance misuse Award, where my work is centred around helping the carers of addicts with the challenges (they as carers), are faced with.

There are many therapists available to choose from, and how one decides which counsellor to choose, can be confusing….I understand for some people making contact or asking for help can take a great deal of courage. Talking to a stranger about deeply sensitive, personal experiences and feelings can seem daunting…you will be warmly received.

All information shared will be treated with respect and sensitivity, remaining confidential within certain limitations which includes harm to self, others or a child at risk.
